Elementary Affinity groups provide a relaxed and fun environment in which your children can enjoy being part of a social group at school comprised of people with whom they share that daily experience. They will be comfortable spaces in which your children can affirm their identity, build community, cultivate leadership, and develop skills and strategies to support their experiences at school. They will also provide an opportunity for students to connect with faculty and staff members who share their identity and who serve as role models and allies. And, of course, it is also a time to enjoy playing with and making new friends.
Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice clubs bring together students of different backgrounds to create opportunities to increase awareness and education of diversity issues on campus. Additionally, they help provide students with a space to acknowledge and celebrate different cultural backgrounds. These groups meet weekly or on a bi-weekly basis.

Middle School + High School Affinity Mentoring Groups
Affinity mentoring groups create opportunities for students in grades 7-12 who share a common identity to come together in a more intimate space within the larger community to share and reflect on their common experience. The mentoring groups are led by adult mentors from within our school community of the same ethnic background and gender. The groups meet during lunch twice a month and activities range from discussions about diversity topics, challenges of young adulthood, to inviting inspirational speakers to come talk to the group and field trips off campus including community service opportunities. These groups help support and empower underrepresented students in the larger school community.
It is important to note that the school will welcome and support the start of any other type of cultural/ethnic affinity groups that students or faculty express interest in developing.
MISSION STATEMENT Our purpose is to encourage those who identify as Asian American Pacific Islander Desi American to connect with one another and create new opportunities for networking, mentorship, and leadership. In doing so we build strong relationships that allow us to better advocate and organize for one another and our students on campus and within the broader community. As a diverse population made up of multiple ethnicities filled with layers of intersectionality, we are a space that creates an opportunity to build cultural competency and develop an understanding of our identity and its many complex facets. Our hope is to create a safe space where we can engage in intentional community dialogue, exchanging our diverse set of opinions, and challenging ourselves to promote a culture of understanding and empowerment.
