  • Who will be eligible to receive support from the CHBAC Endowment?

    The fund is designed to assist Black students with non-tuition, “auxiliary” expenses related to their Campbell Hall education.

  • What are examples of “auxiliary” expenses?

    As Campbell Hall continues to prioritize diversity, equity, and inclusion, we cannot ignore the fact that socio-economic forces play a role in a student’s sense of connection to the overall community. The cost of many activities such as trips, dances, uniforms, bus transportation, athletic spirit packs, technology, and school supplies, creates an even wider social gap that already exists in independent schools. The CHBAC wants to be sure that our Black students are not marginalized due to their financial situation.

  • Is it the same as financial aid?

    No, although roughly 25% of CH families receive financial aid which helps offset the cost of tuition. Additional support is available to families on financial aid for auxiliary expenses. The CHBAC Endowment Fund will provide additional support to Black families for non-tuition expenses regardless of whether they are already receiving financial aid.

  • Why an endowment fund?

    Endowment funds are designed to last forever and grow over time. The fund’s principal is strategically invested and protected in perpetuity with a portion of the fund balance spent each year to support students. Any remaining investment income is reinvested in order to achieve further growth. We chose this structure because we want to leave a lasting legacy that will benefit generations of Campbell Hall students and that future Black alumni can continue to build upon.
