  • We know from decades of research that the most important protective factor to our children’s and teens’ mental health and risk prevention is a deep and trusting relationship with a caring adult. How do you maintain that “healthy attachment” in the face of challenging parenting moments when our (very necessary) boundary setting is often disappointing and conflict-inducing with our kids? Being our children’s friends is not providing them with what they need. So, how do we parent authoritatively with consistency and empathy? Dr. Deborah Brown will present practical guidance to these questions as she walks parents through common parenting challenges and how to approach them with the parent/child relationship in mind. Join us for this important evening of conversation! Light fare will be served.
